Drostanolone enanthate is only mildly anabolic but strongly androgenic, and is referenced for the hardness and definition it produces. It carries notable anti-estrogenic activity.

How it works

Drostanolone is comparable to dihydrotestosterone in character. It does not aromatise into estrogen, and by occupying the aromatase pathway it limits the conversion of free testosterone into estrogen, raising free testosterone and reducing the effects that follow from that conversion.

It metabolises irreversibly into the inactive 2-methyl-5-androstan-3-ol-17-one via 3a-hydroxysteroid-dehydrogenase, which is the basis for the reported hardness, lean mass and muscle preservation during dieting and cutting phases.

The enanthate ester slows release, giving a longer-lasting profile than the propionate form.

Reported protocols

Intramuscular. Reported ranges are 300 to 600 mg per week for men and 100 to 300 mg per week for women, injected every two to three days to hold blood levels steady.

In contest-preparation literature it appears stacked with trenbolone, testosterone propionate, or oral compounds such as stanozolol or fluoxymesterone.

Reported effects

Documented outcomes include increased muscular anabolism, increased strength, and promotion of lipolysis. It also appears as an aromatase inhibitor and free testosterone booster in the cited protocols.

Reported side effects

Acne, male-pattern baldness, hair loss, facial hair growth and oily skin are the commonly reported androgenic effects. Joint discomfort is also reported. In women it can cause virilisation, voice deepening and accelerated hair growth.
